Welcome to Coalson Acres

A Cut Above the Rest!

We are a family owned and operated ranch located one hour west of Ft. Worth in the small community of Garner in Parker County. Vines Lindsey Coalson, Mac Coalson’s grandfather, settled here in 1885 at the age of 28. In the early days, due to the sandy/loam soil in this area, cotton and wheat crops were the main source of income until the 30’s which gave way to peanut crops.
Fast forward one hundred years…Mac one of four children and being the only son born to John and Gladys Coalson, married Tommie Sawyer and raised two boys, McAllen and Greg. The ranch evolved into native and coastal grasslands due to the introduction of Coastal Bermuda grass in this area in the late 50’s. Farming peanut fields gave way to ranching due to high cost of planting peanuts and the introduction of Coastal Bermuda grass, as well as other types of grasses, necessary to sustain livestock.
We continue to sustain and operate a successful cattle and cutting horse operation. We have been breeding equine selectively for the past 30 years to improve soundness, athletic ability, and disposition to meet today’s highly competitive equine industry standards.
